Did you know that autism is the fastest growing developmental disability? Or that a person living with autism averages a cost of over $3 million in a lifetime? According to the Autism Society of America, 1 to 1.5 million Americans live with an autism spectrum disorder. As the numbers continue to increase, support for people affected by autism is needed more than ever. Whether you know someone with autism or not, chances are you at least know someone at work, school, or in your book club who is affected by it.
What can you do to help? Show your support for the Autism Society of Indiana the next time you renew your license plates! Funds received will go towards helping people affected by autism in Indiana. All you have to do is visit the BMV website and sign up for an Autism Society plate. Between renewals, you can get one for an additional $10 swap fee by trading your plate at your local license branch. Make a difference by spreading awareness and donating to a worthy cause!
Speaking of support for autism, be sure to check out the Autism Family Resource Center at Easter Seals Crossroads.
