The UPEASY Seat Assist is a portable seat that helps people with limited mobility stand up from chairs easily. This product is most useful to people with low joint function. As you begin to stand, the UPEASY Seat Assist will support up to 70% of your body weight making the transition from sitting to standing more comfortable and less abrupt on joints. A hydro-pneumatic gas spring adjusts to the change in weight during the movement from sitting to standing. The gas spring serves as a lifting mechanism automatically when you begin to stand and the lifting arm will activate and assist you out of the chair.
The flexible seat curves to a flat surface that lifts you up on a level plane. The Seat Assist is made of blue polyester and is machine washable in cold water. The foam cushion under the polyester covering is water resistant and can be cleaned with mild soap and water. It’s adjustable based on your weight, so it can truly be customized for you. Since it is personalized based on weight, it won’t propel you forward. After the lifting arm has disengaged, the seat will fold flat for easy storage or transportation. The device has a built-in handle for simple carrying. It requires no electricity and weighs only 9 lbs. so it’s portable and convenient.
Another version of the Seat Assist is available, the UPEASY Power Seat. It’s an electronic version that functions basically the same way. The main difference is that the Power Seat requires electricity and the device has control of how fast or slow you stand and sit down. The Power Seat operates when you move a lever and that is how the device “knows” to move up or down.
Both devices are available for purchase on the UPEASY website.
