Normally, iPhone come with monthly plans that can be expensive and attached to two-year contracts with a mobile telephone provider. Cricket Wireless has announced that, soon, the company will offer prepaid iPhone plans. This will allow even more people to access this Apple product and allow more people to access assistive technology apps. The prepaid iPhone is HUGE news to us at the INDATA Project because this means that even more people will be able to use the apps that we love so much.

Cricket Wireless will become first fully prepaid carrier to offer the iPhone via an ‘unlimited’ $55 per month plan. Cricket Wireless is a branch of Leap Wireless; The small carrier has 6.2 million customers. Beginning on June 22nd the carrier will sell the 16GB version of the iPhone 4S without a contract for $500. Or, consumers can also purchase  the 8GB version for $400. Consumers interested in the offer will be able to pick the devices up in Cricket company owned retail stores, and select dealers in almost sixty markets. You can get more information by calling the Cricket Wireless helpline at (800) 853-7682.
