Paralympics

Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.

During the summer of 2012 London, England will be ablaze with Olympic glory with Athletes from all over the world competing in activities such as running, team sports, cycling and more. Did you realize that, immediately following the Olympic games, the 15th paralympic games will feature athletes who have disabilities such as mobility impairments, amputation or blindness? A few examples of the events that will be featured are: archery, wheelchair fencing, judo, goalball, cycling, table tennis, shooting and volleyball. Visit paralympic.org to learn more.
