Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.
Not everyone thinks in a linear fashion. People with learning disabilities, people on the autism spectrum and many folks who don’t have an identified disability think in visual and spacial ways. To help those visual and spacial thinkers and learners there are a number of software programs that use mind-mapping to gather and organize thoughts. These tools allow users to move pictures or thought bubbles around a screen and then convert those maps into organized, written and linear text. For a listing of some programs that use mind-mapping, check our show notes.
