Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.
Education is important to everyone. For students who are blind or visually impaired, this has never been more true. With fewer students being taught Braille, low graduation rates and low employment rates among people who are blind or visually impaired, there is a need for more skilled teachers to teach these blind students. TeachBlindStudents.org is a web site with resources, a blog and job listings for teachers of the blind. Developed by the National Federation of the Blind, this web site is a great resource to help potential educators of the blind learn about this rewarding career.
