Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.
Telephone, email, and internet communication is something that many of us take for granted. If you have a vision impairment and are heard of hearing or Deaf, using traditional communication tools might be a challenge. The National Deaf Blind Equipment Distribution Program is federally funded and provides adaptive communication equipment, training and support to qualified individuals. Examples of the kinds of equipment provided include: Braille devices, computers, mobile devices and signalers. Visit www.ICanConnect.org to learn more.
