Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.

ESL Learners or People who are Learning as English as a Second Language is a growing area of education.  Many ESL teachers and students are finding that some assistive technology tools — designed for people with disabilities — are very helpful for ESL learnings.  Electronic Texts, systems that scan documents and read them aloud and tools that allow readers to easily look up the definitions of words, highlight and annotate materials are especially helpful.  Check our show notes for a link to learn more about assistive technology used for ESL learners.
