Yesterday I wrote about three newer devices available from Amazon: Echo Spot, Echo Plus, and Echo Show. Each of these devices uses Alexa, a cloud-based service that can answer questions, read news, play music, and so much more. Another available Alexa device is the Amazon Dash Wand.
The Dash Wand was designed to make groceries easier in many ways. The Amazon Dash Wand with Alexa helps you find recipes, convert cups to ounces, buy and reorder essentials, find nearby restaurants and more.
How to use Dash Wand:
- Register the device using an iPhone or Android phone
- Scan barcode of item needing ordered or say the name of item (e.g. “Alexa, order paper plates”). The item will then be added to your Amazon shopping cart.
- When you say “Order [item name]” Alexa will tell you the price and confirm that you want to purchase it. All items ordered with Alexa ship with Prime 2-day shipping
- Or ask Alexa questions like, “How many teaspoons in a tablespoon?” or “How many calories are there in Greek yogurt?”
Features of Amazon Dash Wand:
- Scan a barcode with Wand or say an item you’d like to add to your shopping cart
- You can also build a shopping list by saying, “Add [item] to my shopping list” or to my “Fresh cart”
- Buy home essentials or reorder previous purchases
- Access thousands of features and skills with Alexa, like smart home devices
- Get step-by-step recipes and ingredient lists from Allrecipes
- Water-resistant, durable design, and magnetic so you can stick it on your fridge for convenience
