Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!
Amazon Echo has been around for a couple of years now and as you probably already know, you’re able to control lights, music, and more using voice commands with Alexa. Well, now there is a smart light switch with Amazon Alexa built-in to it. Introducing the EcoBee Switch+!
With the Switch+, you’re able to go hands-free when you need it most. It is the first smart light switch to come with a built-in Alexa. You can ask to control your lights, help you out with a task, play music or podcasts, or control other voice-enabled devices in your home.
Here are some voice command examples you can say with the ecobee Switch+:
- Alexa, what’s the weather?
- Alexa, turn off the lights.
- Alexa, pump up the jam.
- Alexa, set a timer.
- And so much more!
The Switch+ is available for pre-order now. Visit ecobee.com to learn more!
