Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!

Many individuals with disabilities are unable to communicate with emergency personnel in times of need.  Natalie Bell is a mother of five who went viral for creating an affordable solution for this potential problem.  Her company, Personalized by Nat, offers Bellt Alert Covers, which are customizable seatbelt covers that easily attach to seatbelts and backpack straps.

The covers are portable and attach securely via velcro.  Some of the available options cover autism, epilepsy, diabetes, cerebral palsy, blindness, and more.

In addition to the above options, you can also personalize a cover for you or your child’s specific need(s).
