Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!
Believe it or not, Halloween is creeping up fast! The major superstore Target recently unveiled new inclusive Halloween costumes in their Hyde and Eek! Boutique collection. The collection offers a couple wheelchair-friendly options as well as some sensory-friendly costumes for your kiddos.
The wheelchair-friendly options include a Princess Carriage Wheelchair Cover as well as an Adaptive Pirate Ship Wheelchair Cover. Both of the wheelchair covers easily attach to a wheelchair using hook-and-loop closures for a secure fit. Please note that the actual Princess and Pirate costumes are sold separately.
In addition to the wheelchair-friendly options, the Hyde and Eek! Boutique also offers costumes for individuals with sensory issues. Their Plush Adaptive Shark and Unicorn Halloween Costumes feature flat seams and no tags for an ultra-comfy feel.
