Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!

Amazon has recently launched yet another convenient service with Amazon Pharmacy.  That’s right — Amazon is delivering prescription medications directly to your door!

Signing up is super easy and only takes about five minutes.  First, they’ll ask questions a doctor’s office asks on the first visit (e.g. name, date of birth, insurance information, allergies, etc.).

Amazon Pharmacy works with most insurance plans and carries both brand and generic versions of common medications.  After signing up, you’ll be able to start requesting your medications.

Other features of Amazon Pharmacy:

  • Currently available in 45 US states.  The service is NOT currently available in:
    • Hawaii
    • Illinois
    • Kentucky
    • Louisiana
    • Minnesota
  • Prime members save when paying without insurance and get FREE 2-Day Delivery
  • Easily access your meds, order history, and prescription details
  • Any questions about your medication?  Amazon pharmacists are available for consultation 24/7!
