Over a year ago, I wrote about a “life-changing product” called the Firefly Upsee Harness. The Upsee allows infants and small children with mobility impairments to stand and achieve repetitive walking training with the support of an adult. The Upsee Harness article has done rather well so I thought I’d share a few more products by its company, Firefly.
3 Firefly Products for Mobility Impairments
1. Firefly GoTo Seat
First on the list is the Firefly GoTo Seat. The GoTo Seat provides children (between the ages of 1 and 5) with mild-to-moderate postural needs the ability to sit virtually anywhere. The GoTo Seat is so lightweight and flexible that it can be fitted safely to any standard dining chair, supermarket cart, or even a swing! It is available in two different sizes: size 1 for children ages 1-2, size 2 for children ages 3-5.

2. Firefly Playpak
Firefly’s Playpak is a portable activity kit that provides fun therapy at home or on the go. The Playpak is a lightweight bag containing an an entire activity center of posture rolls, wedges, and supports designed by clinical experts. These items stick together with Velcro in dozens of ways so that each child can tackle different developmental postures.
Playpak also offers an online therapy guide, featuring easy-to-use instructions showing parents/caregivers how to use each little piece of the kit to create different positions.

3. Firefly Scooot
The Scooot by Firefly is a 3-in-1 mobility rider for little children. “Scooot’s 3-in-1 design means 3 times the fun and 3 times as many chances to fulfill potential. And because it’s more affordable than other mobility devices, your investment goes a lot further.” This product is available in two versions: 2-in-1 or 3-in-1.
- The 2-in-1 version allows children to crawl and scoot. In the crawling position, children maneuver around on their bellies, which will strengthen upper body and stomach muscles. It also allows children to sit upright and move around using their feet. “Supported by a lap belt and backrest, the child’s trunk and pelvis are encouraged to stabilize, freeing up their hands to lift and handle objects, play with family and explore their surroundings.”
- The 3-in-1 version of Scooot allows children to maneuver in three ways: crawling, scooting, and riding. The riding feature allows children to propel themselves around by using the wheels. “This function can also build upper body strength, whilst exploration and participation can improve spatial awareness as well as cognitive, sensory and communication abilities.”
