Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!
Handwriting can be rather challenging for some students, especially those with dysgraphia, dyspraxia, and more. There are several apps that allow users to take pictures and edit text onto them, but they can be rather complicated for younger students. This is where SnapType Pro comes in.
SnapType is an iPad app that lets users take pictures of printed pages (like work books) so they can easily type on them. The original app is free to use, but offers an in-app purchase for SnapType Pro for $4.99. With the Pro app users can:
- Crop and rotate images
- Work in landscape mode
- Choose between multiple text colors
- Store and work on more than one document at a time
- Convert images to black and white for better printing
- And much more.
Check it out on the App Store to learn more!
