Communication is a Whisper Away

Studies show that people who stutter can reduce their stuttering frequency by an average of 85% by whispering. Working toward whispering also helps people with other voice issues, such as Spasmodic Dysphonia or vocal cord paralysis, speak more fluently. However, whispering isn’t the ideal form of communication. Here’s where Whispp can help.

Rather than text-to-speech or vice versa, the Whispp app uses audio-to-audio based AI to convert whispering into audible, natural-sounding speech in real time.

“We enrich whispering by giving it a voice, including the intended prosody: it includes intonation, emphasis, and the rhythm of your whispers. This way, the AI voice also contains your emotions,” said Joris Castermans, the CEO of Whispp.

Users can choose from a variety of distinct voices within the app, or they can rebuild their own voice through past audio or video recordings of themselves.

Whispp is proving to be a game changer for users like David, who writes: “I used to avoid telephone conversations because I couldn’t get a word out of my mouth. It has happened on occasion that the other side disconnects the connection. That’s so frustrating! With Whispp, I speak much more relaxed and I can be myself much more.”

Whispp is currently available as a mobile app via Apple, Android and Google Play. It will soon be available as a desktop app.
